Why Care For Your Cats Teeth? Pt2<\/strong><\/p>\n

There might be something caught in his teeth \u2013 like a piece of string, or a rubber band or wool or bones or anything that he has tried to eat and hasn\u2019t quite finished doing so.<\/p>\n

Again, do not attempt to be a DIY person \u2013 your pet needs special treatment, expensive though it may be \u2013 he needs to be seen by a VET to remove such things from his mouth.\u00a0 You could cause untold suffering by breaking teeth, hurting his gums or his tongue, scratching his throat with your big hands and tweezers \u2013 PLEASE save yourself and your cat by taking him to the VET.<\/p>\n

Some cats salivate in excess.\u00a0 That is a sign that something is not quite right.\u00a0 His fur might be matted around his mouth area when he has been drooling too much.\u00a0 Infections can happen in his lip folds through something being caught in that area of his mouth.\u00a0 He might even have an allergy.<\/p>\n

Cats have nervous complaints just as we do.\u00a0 His neck and spine control the movements of his mouth and his tongue.\u00a0 He might not be able to swallow properly because of a crick in his neck \u2013 he most certainly can\u2019t remove food that might be stuck in a place between his lips and his throat or deeper down \u2013 this can all lead to Neurological disease.<\/p>\n

Yes, cats have the same problems that we humans suffer if we are not careful with ourselves as well.\u00a0 All of this can cause bad breath in a cat.<\/p>\n

Cat\u2019s mouths will attract a disease as easily as you can stub your toe.\u00a0 Because\u00a0 – they lick things.<\/p>\n

They lick themselves clean.\u00a0 They lick their entire bodies where they can reach.\u00a0 You have watched a cat clean himself.\u00a0 Do you not think that sometimes something he licks might get caught in his mouth, his throat or even be swallowed and cause him untold grief further into his tubing that might be causing him pain because it is slowly rotting away somewhere inside his body and he is notifying the world of this discomfort by coming up with bad breath?<\/p>\n
