About Debbie

Hi My name is Debbie Nicholson. I was brought up in Porirua where at the age of 5 years old, my father purchased the 1st of the first 3 houses to be built in Kotuku Street way back in 1956. My dad taught me to read and to love books as he was an avid reader himself.

My Maori ancestors came to New Zealand on the great canoe Takitimu which arrived from the isles of the sea, followed by my English pioneer farming and passenger transport families from Leicestershire and Yorkshire, and my Ship building Grandfather from Germany.

I first got interested in writing about three years ago when I joined an online mentoring site run by Stephen and Alicia Pierce.  Stephen was very encouraging with his Kindle formatting outline and he sent me some PLR work to help me get started.  I initially wrote and published 14 Books with a great deal of help from him although I didn’t really take writing seriously at that point until I got my first cheque in the mail a few months later – that made a very big difference in my attitude and also that of my husband’s who up until then used to sneer at me always “Playng” on my computer.  From the day he found the cheque in the mail box from Amazon his whole attitude about me on the computer changed and so I have gone from strength to strength and from cheque to cheque ever since.

I am married to a fantastic man who spoils me and for the moment, we live in a mobile home in a beautiful park very near a sandy beach.  Once he finishes work, we plan to tour the North and South Islands of New Zealand and then perhaps go on to Australia.  We have 3 children who bring with them their own husbands and wife along with 9 grandchildren and now 1 great grandson.

The footprint I leave on the world through my online work adds to all things that are good in my life.  I look forward to working with you, as a reader or as a colleague in business.  Whatever way we connect from this point on can only add to a mutual friendship and respect.
