Watch For Rocks

Watch For Rocks

Driving down a remote road, a motorist sees a sign that says:

“Watch For Fallen Rocks.”

A couple of miles of careful driving later, he spots some pebbles and stops to pick a few up.  Arriving in the next town, the motorist carries the stones into the highway maintenance office.

Placing them on the counter, he says to an offical:

“Here are your fallen rocks.  Now where’s my watch?”

Twenty Things To Remember

Twenty Things To Remember

Someone had to remind me, so I’m reminding you too.  Don’t laugh……it is all true…

Perks of reaching 50 or being over 60 and heading towards 70!

01… Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

02. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.

03.. No one expects you to run–anywhere..

04. People call at 9 pm and ask, did I wake you?

05. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

06. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

07. Things you buy now won’t wear out.

08. You can eat supper at 4 pm.

09. You can live without sex but not your glasses.

10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

11. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks  into the room.

13. You sing along with elevator music.

14.. Your eyes won’t get much worse.

15. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.

17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can’t remember them either.

18. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.

19. You can’t remember who sent you this list.

And you notice these are all in Big Print for your convenience.

AND TRY TO ALWAYS REMEMBER …

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

 Polishing Apples

A young man asked an old rich man how he made his money.

The old guy fingered his expensive wool vest and said,
“Well son, it was 1932.  The depth of the Great depression.  I was down to my last nickel.”

I invested that nickel in an apple.

I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents.”

The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples.

I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them at 5pm for 20 cents.  I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I’d accumulated a fortune of $9.80.

“Then my wife’s father died and left us two million dollars.”

Only For Mormons, Alma Reveals His Entrepreneurial Secrets

Anthony Robbins 2 Books to Read

Motivational works come in all forms ranging from books to videos to songs to speeches and even to scenery to name but a few.  Today being Sunday here in our country, I wanted to touch on one of my books in my Motivational Series, because it has been on mind to do so all day and this is the one I have chosen.

We are taught to liken the scriptures to ourselves which means that we should substitute our own personal name into the parts that refer to someone.  Why shouldn’t it be you?  After all, aren’t scriptures given to us to reveal to us the mind of our Heavenly Father?  To give us revelation so that we might know the age old wisdom that has been taught to us from these very same pages for thousands of years by all religions no matter who the books belong to.

Every day I seek guidance from my particular set of scriptures and have done so for 30 odd years now since my conversion.  In my videos you will notice that I keep saying, if you cannot afford to go out and get a self-help book then read your scriptures until you have earned enough money from your new online career to be able to go out and browse the shelves of bookshops whether they be used or new.

Reading is a great gift given to each of us if we are only willing to take up the challenge. And if you had goodly parents, they would have taught you to read and be inspired with your imagination since when you were traveling around inside your mother’s belly.

There is a story I have heard whereby a young mum-to-be would sing the nursery rhyme Four and Twenty Black Birds to herself as she hung out the washing every day.  And the very first song the growing youngster sang was that very same song.  So you see, contrary to what many believe, from Day one, your little one is so aware of what is going on in their environment.

Armed with that knowledge would you not, given the time over, have tried more diligently to educate your offspring before they stepped out of the protection of your womb into this unknown world of negativity, hate, violence and corruption?  Therefore, you could be instrumental in developing a young family of loving, happy, positive experts in all fields, with knowledge of dictionaries and encyclopaedias, musical instruments and sounds, heroes to follow, tools to give them a leaping start to our vast world of knowledge and continuing research.

Yes, given what I now know it would be nice to turn back the clock and be given the chance to start again.

My own children have not had disadvantages in education outside of the home; however, they have each been wanting in education for self-development, personal self-esteem, and to come to the love of reading as the gateway to knowledge and expertise.  Each of my children who are all successful in their own fields and we, as parents, are very proud of them in their endeavours.  They have each attracted a supporting mate who loves them and cares for them.  And that is a good thing.  However, it could very easily have gone the other way when their early lives were filled with the turmoil of tragic circumstances beyond any of our control.

In my day, I was not taught entrepreneurialship, although my ancestors before me all had pioneer traits that I have inherited and done my best with, however, not until very late in life.  Had I known earlier, maybe I could have begun earlier in my chosen career – alas not having personal self-esteem held up the awakening of the dreams that I now have in abundance.   It’s certainly interesting to look over one’s life when you are in your sixties to see where you had turned down the wrong path only to correct the course further along the track.  Admittedly though, stuff was learned along those crooked paths, and in hindsight one realises that all of this accidental learning has made me who I am today.

In writing this inspired book, I have discovered a goldmine within the volumes of pages of my scriptures.  Who would have thought that I would find in the lines chapter headings such as Landing Pages, Marketing, Conversions, Shiny Objects, Training, Building A List, Customising, Auto responder, Follow Up, Launch, Event, Personal Development

So it is my profound hope that you share with me what  I have found to be so useful in a book that is just waiting to be opened to reveal its secrets.

How To Cope With Disasters And Acknowledging The Apocalypse Meaning

16 Photos Taken 1 Second Before Disaster

Disasters of Apocalypse proportions happen in the lives of many people in the world.  What would be your reaction upon meeting such an event in your own life?

Disasters happen and they did to me yesterday.

I was busy preparing optin forms, posts and give aways for my new site and I touched something I should not have and hey presto!! everything fell down.  One minute the site was looking great and the next minute it was just a line of program words on the side of the page.  NOT GOOD.

How to fix was the next problem because who knew what was missing or been added or whatever is the cause of such a disaster!!!

Consequently – a sleepless night!!

Dealing with time zones that are vastly different caused more delay.

Thankfully only 12 hours later we are up and running again once the right people had been contacted.

So what is the disaster that you are going to face today in your life?  And how are you going to deal with it?

A few months ago I wrote a book on The Apocalypse Meaning which has yet to be published. However, today I am going to give you an insight into the book by providing you with the first chapter and I will provide a link at the end for you to visit should you be interested in  getting your own copy of the book once it is finally put together.  It is all written – just a matter now of putting it all together and making sure I have dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s.

The work of an author is never completed.

You write one thing and then review it several months later and wonder about some of the ideas you originally had.  A very dangerous thing to do in my case as I have rewritten entire books because of fresh ideas during the ensuing months.

Best to leave the first draft alone – get that published and then do a followup to it.

I am always learning from life and what happens to me as a consequence and how I deal with things.

Disasters may be real physically or just a figment of one’s imagination. It all depends on how deep you want to go into the meaning of the word. I guess my book is like keeping a disasters journal of what has been happening through the ages.

Let’s hope you find it just as interesting as I did to write it.

How Developing The “Pink Series” of Ebooks Is Branding Debbie Nicholson As An Author

The Pink Panther Dance with Steve Martin

The more good writers write the better they become at addressing topics that people want to read about. However, there has to be a personal interest invested first.

That’s how I started the “Pink Book Series” which came as a direct result of my wanting to learn more about all different types of subjects.

I actually started this Pink Book Series through thoughts that went through my head when I first woke up in the mornings.  I would wake up with something in my head that I would like to know more about and a subject or topic would pop in there and persist as I read my scriptures.  Then as I continued with my morning regime of exercising and drinking my water, ideas would follow through with the topic and so by the time I had had my breakfast I was that excited about a new book that once I was ready to start my “Work Day” my fingers would be just itching to get to the keyboard.  Did you know that I have worn out 2 keyboards entirely obliterating some of the letters to the point when they no longer exist and I just have to guess what the letter should be.  Okay for me whose fingers find the letters by themselves, however, when my  grandchildren are visiting and want to use my computer – they have a big problem finding the keys they want.

The first book I started with was the Honeymoon in the Caribbean book – one of my cousins had gone there for a honeymoon and that thought must have stuck in my head which prompted the words that followed.  It is actually more of a things to do when you visit some of the islands book really, however, I guess the title stuck because of my previous association to the topic a few months earlier.  Each book in The Pink Series is not a very long publication being only 5 chapters in length, and so I thought it would be a great idea to include at the back things that might be useful relating to each topic.  At the time I was also dabbling in internet marketing and so this is where ideas came from for the backs of each book.

People where I live in the Holiday Park gave me ideas with the various pets they brought with them and the Horses series started because there are two horses that used to live in the paddock next door to where we live.

The Pink Series is a variety of books on learning about stuff – nothing in particular, just whatever I woke up thinking about each morning.  Every day, even now, I wake up with a curious mind and there are so many other books that I will in time add to the Pink Series.

Life Happens and The Pink Series helped me get started.

I have grown a lot since then.

Laugh Till You Cry – How My First Book In The “Life Happens Series” Started

Life Happens

This is the first Volume of my series of Life Happens Kindle eBooks which was gathered over a period of many years of funny faxes and emails from friends from all over the world.

One day when I was packing up my house to finally say goodbye to that style of living, I went through some old emails and papers that I  had forgotten in much of my “stuff” that one saves “just in case”.  And the laughter helped me change my mood as to whether my husband was making the right decision about selling our house.

Like the papers I had kept, I realised that I was at the point of change in my life.  And these papers were now destined for the next change in their existence – the rubbish.  However, as I continued to read I wondered if anyone else would be interested in my collection of stuff and nonsense.  And so a book idea was formed in a VERY small corner of my mind.  You know how what you think about comes about.  Well, that day I thought about a book in the future, not then, as I was far too busy. (Procrastination at its best!)

Well that day has arrived.  And yesterday and today I have spent many hours, copying and pasting, editing, hunting up the pictures that matched the stories in my vast collection of MY PICTURES FOLDER and most of all LAUGHING at what my friends have thought wise to send me at various times of our lives.

Following are a collection of Emails and Fax messages sent to me since I first owned a computer way back in the 1980s and people discovered this method of sending things to each other.

Some things are rude I must warn you now, so be wary as to who you allow to read these pages.  Some stories appear rascist, and I hope you do not read them as such and only see the humour that appears in the story.  They are after all, just a take-off of different people in the world who have habits and who express their way of thinking which is sometimes different to those of our own.  They are only words meant to be laughed at and I sincerely hope you see the joke that was intended when you read them.

I have thoroughly enjoyed going through my old papers these past couple of days and remembering the person who sent them to me and what was happening in the current events of the world and our country at the time.  Above all, I have laughed and shared that laughter with my husband Keith, who laughed so much at some of them, the tears rolled down his face.

That gave me much pleasure seeing him do that.  Because I know that he enjoys a good joke.  And I know there are many people out there in the world, who also enjoy a good joke.  Please let that be you.

Welcome To Debbie’s World of Words

Three Anti-Social Skills To Improve Your Writing

Hi, my name is Debbie Nicholson, and today I am coming at you from an entirely different angle in my world of words.

Now that I have spent a few years creating content, it is time to start into a new phase of marketing which up till now was not important in my world as not being a techie I didn’t want to know about such stuff.  I have always found though, that once you are ready for a new phase of learning then someone or something comes into your life that makes a complete turn-around in your head about what you have previously dwelt upon in your mind.

Life is like that.  And that is why I so enjoyed creating my Life Happens Series, because from all of those thousands of faxes and emails sent to me over the years which I had the foresight to keep, I was able to start out my “career” so to speak by putting them all together into a readable form and publishing them into a Kindle format which was easily downloadable for others to reminisce and chuckle about.

Some of the comments were not kind when I got started in 2012, however, I guess they were from people who had not thought about doing what I have done and put them out there in a book form to share, therefore they expressed their feelings to the Amazon world of readers from what I feel was a feeling of lack.  Some people had received similar emails and poo pooed my idea to share them.  However, there were and still are many readers who did and will appreciate each story for what it was intended – to laugh, to cry, to chuckle and to retell to others either verbally or through passing them on through email and social sites.

When I first started out I was vulnerable like most people when venturing into a new phase of life.

My first 14 books were published by Amazon and allowed to languish in their libraries for a few months until a new person wanting to set their own mark on the trade changed the rules and they were all pulled down one after the other along with 4 of my Life Happens Series which by then I had begun with a vengeance.  Having had some initial success completely out of the blue through the receipt of a cheque from Amazon, I was not phased by their new rules and continued to write using a series style that I felt in my heart to be the next step.

Now I write one book and already have 2 more in my head forcing their way onto new pages as I write the first book.  Sometimes the inspiration I get comes so rapidly, the highs of creation leaving me thoroughly exhausted for several weeks before I can publish more.

Even though there are big gaps in my publishing when sometimes I publish a new book every week, it doesn’t mean that I have given up.  No, it just means, I am resting and probably learning something else that is new to be learned and while I am learning, be assured I keep writing and keep those books in the pipeline.

Why, just the other day I was getting all of my covers ready for this new site, when I discovered many covers that have not even found their way into the Amazon shelves as yet because they were just sitting there waiting for me to match them up with the poetry and prose that goes with them stored somewhere else on my computer’s hard drive.

How exciting and very encouraging – to be an author and to find content that is only a hairs breadth away from being shared with my readers.

I think this is where I say – watch this space……….
